ABOUT US

Street Service is a 501c3 non profit organization operating out of the Lower East Side of NYC. At 126 Forsyth St, you’ll find us at ground level, operating out of the Seventh Day Adventist Church’s kitchen. We believe in true mutual aid - every dollar in goes right back out. New and used clothing, hygiene supplies, a hot meal and haircuts are circulated every week, right onto the street.

We began as a few individuals handing out essentials, gorilla style in Sara D. Roosevelt Park and have grown into a dedicated effort to support those in need across Manhattan. An estimated 1 in 5 New Yorkers are facing food insecurity or homelessness. It is therefore our mission to reach the most vulnerable neighborhoods with compassion, care and consistency.
